| Welcome
Hello, I'm Gill Jones. Welcome to my website. I hope you will find
something here to interest you. I am a UK registered independent
online counsellor and I offer a confidential online counselling
service which you can access by clicking the online counsellor tab at the
top of this page.
I began working as an online counsellor in 2001 and have
developed an online counseling approach for my areas of special
interest which are, anxiety and panic attacks, CFS/ME,
depression, loss and grief, stress and relationships.
You can read
how I work with these issues by clicking the relevant link on the
online counsellor web page. I tailor my counselling to suit
individual clients, using mainly cognitive (CBT) and/or narrative
approaches with a psychodynamic understanding of how a
client’s past still influences their way of being in the present.
Online counselling can be very focused and effective. It is
particularly suitable for people who have to make special
arrangements to keep a face to face appointment - or people who
find keeping such appointments very stressful.
In addition to offering online counselling I also offer individual
supervision online to other counsellors (see my online supervisor web page)
and I am part of a team who offer an online training course to
counsellors and psychotherapists who wish to work online (see
my online trainer web page). I am Founder Chairman of the Association for
Counselling and Therapy Online (www.acto-uk.org) which seeks
to “promote, improve and advance online therapy as a recognised
modality with the profession of psychological therapies.”
I have just finished co-authoring a book for other online
counsellors and therapists which is due to be published by
Palgrave Macmillan in Autumn, 2008. It is called "Online
Counselling: A Handbook for Practitioners.
If you want to find out more about my online counsellor services, I
hope you will take time to look around the rest of the website. If
you have any questions please send me an email via the link that
appears at the top and bottom of every page.
