| About
Gill Jones As
well as listing my professional qualifications and experience on this page (I
hope you will check out the links which are intended to show you that what I claim
for myself is accurate) I also want to say a bit about why I began online counselling
in the first place.
Background
I trained as a teacher of speech and
drama in the 1960s and after my children grew up I began my counsellor training
in 1990. I was introduced to emails in 1996 when my eldest daughter went back-packing
around the world and found them a great way to keep in touch. In 1997 one of my
face to face clients began to talk about internet relationships and I learned
how powerful these online relationships could be. I thought about working online
as a counsellor but did nothing further about it until 1999 when a newslist I
read asked for interested counsellors to make contact with a view to doing some
training prior to working as online counsellors. I realised this was the opportunity
I was waiting for and throughout 2000 I worked online with a group of counsellors
who were all interested in setting up an online practice. In 2001 I set up my
first counselling website and have been working online ever since, both as counsellor
and a trainer of other counsellors. I have written a Diploma in Online Counselling
designed for counsellors who wish to work online and I and other online colleagues
act as tutors on the Course. If you visit www.onlinetrainingforcounsellors.co.uk
you can read about this training. Counselling

Of
course this information won't tell you whether or not I am the right online counsellor
for you, that decision is your personal preference. However, I hope it shows you
that I take my online counselling practice very seriously and I have taken steps
to show that I can be traced and I am accountable to my professional body (BACP). top
