| About
Gill Jones I take my online counselling practice very seriously and am showing you here that I can be traced and I am accountable to my professional body ( BACP ).
Background
I began my counsellor training in 1990 and was introduced to emails in 1996 (my eldest daughter went back-packing around the world and they were a great way to keep in touch). In 1997 one of my face to face clients began to talk about internet relationships and I discovered how powerful these online relationships could be. I thought about working online as a counsellor but did nothing further about it until 1999 when a newslist I read carried a message about training prior to working as online. I realised this was the opportunity I was waiting for and throughout 2000 I worked online with a group of counsellors who were all interested in setting up an online practice. In 2001 I set up my first counselling website and have been online ever since, both as counsellor and a trainer of other counsellors. If you visit www.onlinetrainingforcounsellors.co.uk you can find out more about the training program for therapists which I developed.
