I am a Director of Counselling Online Ltd., a Company which was formed in 2001with the purpose of developing online counselling in the UK through training other counsellors to work online and through working online as a group.
I have co-authored a book with another Director at Counselling Online Ltd., Anne Stokes. It is called “Online Counselling: A Handbook for Practitioners” and is available from bookshops and Amazon from November, 2008.
My role at Counselling Online Ltd. is to manage the training courses we run. These Courses are validated by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awards Body ( CPCAB ). Currently we have validated a General Certificate and Diploma in Online Counselling. Our training uses an experiential approach and is delivered entirely online to groups rather than individuals and there are no face to face meetings. It is offered to experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who are planning to introduce an online service. If you are interested in this type of training please visit our website: www.onlinetrainingforcounsellors.co.uk .
As part of my work as a trainer, I have written two papers which consider aspects of working online in a counselling environment. You may download them from here by clicking the titles below.
If you are wondering how online counseling might work, I have also included here an example of some brief email therapy with a fictitious client called Marcia.
